Dead cow and fried potatoes are the way to win over any husband. This recipe can also be wrapped in pie dough to make pasties, served as a beef hash for breakfast if you don’t have biscuits, or as a vegetable accompaniment to go with steak if you leave out the beef and biscuits.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. Ground Beef
- 1 Onion
- 1 Pkg Sliced Mushrooms
- 6 Small Russet Potatoes (You can also add some carrots if you are making a pie)
- 1 Tube Biscuit Dough for 8 Biscuits
- 24 Garlic Cloves
- 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
- 2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
- 1 Tbsp. Honey
- Dash Hot Sauce
Note: The recipe for the sauce itself can be found in the Totally Garlic Cookbook, which is why it contains so much garlic.
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Brown beef in pan. When beef is cooked, add chopped potatoes, chopped onion, and mushrooms (in order).
- Mince garlic into a bowl and add olive oil, soy sauce, mustard, honey, and hot sauce (if you have a small, fresh chili pepper you may add this as well). Mix sauce together and add to beef and potato mixture. Stir together and cook thoroughly.
- Place 4 unbaked biscuits in bottom of a pie pan and squish down to form a crust (pie pan should be greased for best results). Add beef mixture on top of biscuits. Press remaining unbaked biscuits flat and place them on top of the mixture.
- Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes, or until top biscuits are browned.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
